During her guest appearance on the vlog of actor Christian Bables, K was asked about a topic that often divides opinions among Filipino families—the belief that children should take care of their parents financially once they grow older.
Without hesitation, K expressed that parents should avoid placing that burden on their children.
“Huwag nating obligahin ‘yung anak natin. Sumbat? Huwag. Ang chaka!” she said.

According to the comedian, there is a significant difference between support that comes from gratitude and support that is demanded out of obligation. She explained that it is much better when children choose on their own to help their parents rather than feeling pressured to do so.
Kusang loob hindi ‘yung sumbat," she continued.
K also acknowledged that many parents appreciate assistance from their children. However, she stressed that children should not be expected to sacrifice their own future to provide for their parents.
She explained that children eventually build lives of their own and may have responsibilities toward their future spouses and children.
No. Kaso mayroon rin siyang sariling buhay.
The actress further pointed out that providing for children is already part of a parent's duty. In her view, parents should not treat their efforts in raising their children as something that must be repaid later on.
That’s our obligation.
Her remarks have since resonated with many netizens, particularly those who continue to debate the balance between family responsibility, gratitude, and financial independence.

First rising to national attention as the lead singer of the band K and the Boxers, she has since built a decades-long career as a premier live performer, comedic actress, and beloved host on hit programs like It's Showtime and Sing Galing.
In another report, Tal Brosas publicly challenged Alvin Aragon, urging him to embody the humility, compassion, and understanding that he advocates instead of using faith to judge or criticize others. The daughter of K Brosas defended her mother’s stance, saying that acceptance reflects genuine love and good values.
Meanwhile, Kris Lawrence left a heartfelt handwritten letter for Katrina Halili before departing for the United States, expressing his sincere feelings and intentions.
