Eman Bacosa Pacquiao received unwavering support from his mother, Joanna Rose Bacosa, after facing backlash following his recent loss to Rodelyn Perez in their Philippine Boxing Federation lightweight title bout.

The boxing bout took place on June 21 at the DRP Sports Complex in Muntinlupa City, where Perez managed to knock down Eman three times on the way to victory. Following the match, social media users shared various opinions about Eman’s performance, with some suggesting that his growing involvement in the entertainment industry may have affected his focus inside the ring.

Amid the criticism, Joanna Rose stood firmly behind her son and expressed her belief that the public’s negative remarks did not define who he is as a boxer or as a person.

She also questioned the officiating during the match.
“Maraming lapses ang referee. Sa 2nd round pa lang, sinuntok ka nang marami ni Perez sa likod ng ulo. Hindi man lang binawasan ng referee yon sinuntok ka sa likod ng ulo,” she wrote.
“Bulag at kulang talaga sa safety o pagsaway ang referee. Sabihin na nating marami ka pang kailangan na i-improve pero malinis ka maglaro Eman at hindi madaya.”
Despite losing the title opportunity, Joanna emphasized that a championship belt does not determine a person’s worth.
“Hayaan mo nang wala kang belt. Hindi yan kawalan ng pagkatao mo ang belt. God is with you! You are blessed!”
She also highlighted Eman’s faith and composure after the setback.
“Pinatunayan mo kagabi na mahal mo ang Diyos. Kahit sa gitna ng pagkabigo dahil hindi ka nanalo ay nanatiling matibay ang pananalig mo sa Panginoong Diyos!”
According to Joanna, her son’s ability to continue praising God even during difficult moments was something she considered more important than winning a title.
“Pinupuri mo Siya at itinataas. Yan ang anak ng Diyos. Hindi lang sa mabuti ang pagpupuri, pati sa gitna ng pagsubok ay nananatiling matatag ang pananampalataya sa Diyos!"
She further assured Eman that he remains a champion in the eyes of those who genuinely love and support him.
“You are the champion sa puso naming nagmamahal sa yo! Congratulations!”
Joanna concluded her message by praising her son’s integrity and encouraging him to ignore those spreading negativity online.
“Pinatunayan mong hindi mo kailangan mandaya para lang manalo. Lahat ng laban mo sa buhay ay nilalabanan mo ng patas.”
“Hayaan lang natin ang ibang tao na nagsasalita ng negatibo tungkol sa yo. Ginagawa kang content para sila ay kumita. Pagbigyan naman natin sila. Baka ikaunlad nila ang ginagawa nila.”
