Katrina Halili became emotional after reading a heartfelt letter from Kris Lawrence, who formally expressed his desire to court her again years after their separation.

The touching moment was featured in a recent YouTube vlog uploaded by the Kapuso actress. Before Kris flew back to the United States, Katrina and their daughter Katie accompanied him to the airport. It was only after his departure that Katrina opened and read the handwritten letter he had left behind.
In the message, Kris thanked Katrina for allowing him to reconnect with her and spend time together over the past several months.
“Ang dami kong gustong sabihin pero ang pinakaimportante sa lahat, thank you. Thank you for giving me the chance na makilala ka ulit—the conversation, random moments, and even the quiet times na magkasama tayo.”

As she continued reading, Katrina could not hold back her tears.
Kris went on to share how much he appreciated Katrina as he got to know her again.
“These past few months have been really special to me. The more I get to know you, the more that I appreciate you, yung kindness and the way you love Katie and yung mga taong mahalaga sa 'yo.”
The singer also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to reconnect after years of having little to no communication following their breakup. Kris and Katrina were in a relationship for five years from 2009 to 2014 and welcomed their daughter Katie in 2012.
According to Kris, he has no intention of rushing Katrina into making any decisions.
“I'm not here to rush anything. I just want you to feel safe, safe to be yourself, safe to take your time, safe that knowing whatever happens, my intentions with you are genuine.”
He added that their reunion may have happened at the right point in their lives.
“Baka hindi aksidente na life gave us this opportunity to reconnect. Maybe we were meant to reconnect at this version of ourselves—wiser, stronger, and hopefully better than before.”
The most surprising part of the letter came near the end when Kris directly asked Katrina if he could court her.
“May gusto akong itanong sa 'yo? Pwede bang manligaw sa 'yo? Not because of our history, not because of Katie, not because of what people want, but because of you.”
He continued by saying he hoped for the chance to know her more deeply, make her smile, support her, and choose her every day.
Despite the sincerity of his request, Kris assured Katrina that he was willing to wait for her answer.
“And if your answer isn't today, that's okay. Hindi naman ako nagmamadali because right now, masaya na ako kung anong meron tayo.”
He ended the letter by saying how much he would miss both Katrina and Katie.
For her part, Katrina said she was happy to see the more mature version of Kris after all these years. While she has yet to give an answer regarding his request, their daughter Katie has already given her blessing to her father's intention to pursue her mother once again.
