Rere Madrid and her husband, basketball star Kai Sotto, have announced that they are expecting their first child together. The newlyweds took to social media to share the happy news, revealing that they had been keeping the pregnancy a secret while enjoying the experience privately.

“For a while, we’ve been living in our own little world. Holding onto a secret that made every day feel like an adventure,” they wrote.

“Every moment, every plan, every quiet smile. It was all for you. And now, we finally get to share it.”

Alongside the announcement, the couple uploaded a compilation video showing the reactions of family and friends upon learning about the pregnancy.

The video revealed that the pregnancy happened before the couple tied the knot.

Among those featured in the emotional clips was Rere’s brother, actor Ruru Madrid. Initially stunned by the news, the actor later assured his younger sister that he was happy for her and would stand by her side.

In the video, Ruru was heard telling Rere that he would not get angry and that he would support her all the way.

Their father also became emotional after learning the news. Fighting back tears, he lovingly told Kai to continue taking care of and loving Rere even after he is gone.

Meanwhile, Rere’s mother was left speechless and visibly emotional upon hearing that she would soon become a grandmother.

Also seen in the video was Bianca Umali, Ruru Madrid’s longtime girlfriend, who sent a heartfelt message to the couple. The actress assured Rere and Kai that she would support, guide, and help them throughout their journey into parenthood.

Rere and Kai recently exchanged vows in an intimate wedding ceremony held at Neri’s Secret Garden in Alfonso, Cavite. Their latest announcement marks another milestone in their relationship as they prepare to welcome their first child.

Ruru Madrid is one of GMA Network’s most recognizable actors, hosts, and singers. He first rose to prominence after finishing as runner-up in the reality talent competition Protégé in 2012. Dubbed the “Kapuso Primetime Action Hero,” he has starred in popular series including Encantadia, Lolong, and Black Rider, while also earning acclaim for his award-winning performance in the movie Green Bones. In 2026, Ruru continues to lead major projects, among them the upcoming action series Hari ng Tondo and the historical film Los Salvajes Bravos.
