Businessman Sam Verzosa has finally spoken at length about his breakup with actress Rhian Ramos, sharing personal details about their relationship and the lessons he learned from their separation.

During his appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Monday, Verzosa admitted that he initially hesitated to discuss the matter publicly. He described the interview as the last time he intends to speak about the issue.
Reflecting on their relationship, Verzosa emphasized that his feelings for Ramos were genuine.
“What we had was real. Sobrang minahal ko si Rhian,” he said.

He added that their years together were among the happiest moments of his life.
“I’m so grateful na naging parte ako ng buhay niya and ako rin sa kaniya,” he shared.
Despite their strong connection, Verzosa acknowledged that some circumstances were beyond their control.
“But sometimes, even two people care about each other, I don’t know, life brings you in different directions.”
“‘Tas may mga nangyayaring bagay na hindi mo kontrolado, na we both felt it’s best for us to move forward separately," he added.
The businessman stressed that he harbors no resentment toward Ramos and only wishes her happiness, peace, and success. He also said he prefers to remember the good memories they created together.
One of the most significant revelations from the interview was that the former couple had seriously considered marriage.
“We really thought na that time, ‘yun na, we were meant for each other,” Verzosa revealed.
He also denied speculation that politics played a role in their breakup. According to him, Ramos remained supportive during his unsuccessful bid for Manila mayor in the 2025 elections.
“I don’t wanna connect politics, ‘yung kasal, or whatever to what happened because nung election, nandun si Rhian during my hardest battle kumbaga sa buhay ko.”
“And I’m so grateful for that,” he added.
Verzosa recalled how Ramos stood by him during difficult times.
“I felt the genuine love, care.”
“She fought with me, she believed in me, she believed in what I’m fighting for.”
“And when you have that person dun sa pinakamahirap na laban mo sa buhay, you never forget about them.”
According to Verzosa, the couple temporarily broke up during their first year together after Ramos struggled with the idea of having a partner involved in politics.
“I couldn’t even post kasi pag-aawayan namin. We couldn’t talk about it, I couldn’t post,” he recalled.
Over time, however, he said Ramos came to understand his work and advocacy efforts.
After four years together, Verzosa said the experience taught him a valuable lesson about relationships.
“Love is not enough. There’s trust, loyalty, respect, peace of mind, and that’s what matters,” he said.
He also shared that Ramos helped him become a better person.
Verzosa confirmed that they are no longer communicating. Earlier this year, Ramos revealed that they had already been separated since October 2025. She also clarified that content creator Wil Dasovich had no involvement in their breakup.
