Asked by host Boy Abunda if he had any connection to the case filed by Alyas Totoy, Sam said the issue surfaced after his relationship with Rhian had already ended. He stressed that he has no firsthand knowledge of the matter and did not want to speculate.
"It all happened wala na po kami ni Rhian. So wala talaga akong first-hand information regarding that case. And mahirap magdagdag ng kung ano (dahil) wala naman ako doon at tapos na kami," he said.
Boy then brought up allegations that Sam was supposedly among the people seen in photos allegedly found inside an "ang pao" tied to the controversy.

Sam immediately denied the claim.
"Wala po ako dun," he replied.
The host also mentioned statements allegedly made by Boy Evangelista of the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC), who has been assisting Alyas Totoy.
"Si Boy Evangelista of the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) na tumutulong kay Alyas Totoy diumano'y sinabi na si Rhian ay galit sa kanyang former driver dahil si Alyas Totoy daw ay may ugnayan pa rin sa'yo. At siya ang nagsasabi kung ano ang mga kaganapan na nangyayari kay Rhian."
In response, Sam declined to comment further on the allegations, saying the matter is already under the jurisdiction of the proper authorities. He said he did not want to add "noise" to the issue, especially since he was not directly involved or aware of what was happening.
"I don't know what's the right thing to do right now kasi it's already an ongoing case. It's being handled by the people involved and the right authorities so mahirap nang magdagdag ng kahit anong noise na magpu-fuel dun sa kaso especially wala ako doon, hindi ko alam ang nangyayari."
Sam added that he knew the former driver because he had worked for Rhian for many years and that he had helped him before. However, he maintained that he has no knowledge of the ongoing case and would rather leave the matter to those directly involved and the authorities handling it.
