The actress, daughter of veteran stars Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzalez, shared that preparing for the lead role required months of dedication before she even stepped into the audition room.

Speaking to entertainment reporters on June 17, Atasha described the demanding process she underwent to portray Annie Batungbakal, a character from an era she did not personally experience.

“The preparation took months of dancing, singing, and a lot of research kasi I wasn't born during the time in the 70s, so there's a lot for me to learn in order to understand the character.”

She said her daily routine revolved around workshops and rehearsals.

“Leading up to the audition, every day I was doing my workshop, I was singing, dancing, acting, and I put a lot of pressure to memorize a lot of songs, I put pressure on myself to make sure na binigay ko talaga lahat ng 100 percent.”

Despite coming from one of the country's most recognizable showbiz families, Atasha firmly denied ever considering using her parents' influence to obtain projects.

“Never po. No, no, no!”

She explained that her upbringing taught her that success should always be earned.

“In our family, ever since we're little, whenever you want something in life, you have to work for it, nothing is given. If you're given something, it doesn't feel right, especially when you put no work to it.”

She added that achievements hold greater value when they are the result of genuine effort.

“In life, you have to work hard for the things that you want. Nothing should ever be given, nothing comes easy in life.”

Atasha also expressed gratitude to her parents for instilling those values in her and her twin brother, Andres Muhlach.

“Growing up as that, I've never seen them as celebrities.”

She said she looks up to her parents more for their character than their fame.

“I'm more inspired to be like them as people because they taught me the core values and the importance of working hard.”

The actress also revealed that her parents would never allow their children to use family influence as a shortcut.

“For sure my parents won't ever allow us to use the Muhlach card. Hindi puwede yun. Bawal, bawal!”

As she continues to build her career, Atasha said she remains thankful for the support she has received from the public. She acknowledged that she still has much to learn, particularly when it comes to improving her Filipino-speaking skills.

“I'm just super happy that the people have accepted me for me.”

She added that growth takes time and remains committed to improving herself.

“I really want to learn. Talagang gustung-gusto ko talaga. I'm trying my best. It doesn't happen overnight, it takes time.”
