He emphasized that Anne’s career existed long before their relationship and that he sees it as part of her profession.
He further explained his perspective, adding:
“She was already doing it when we weren't even dating yet. So, who am I to kind of tell her what to do and change who she is or anything like that? It's like asking me to stop cooking, right? I know, it's kind of different but look at it as part of the job. It is job, right? And that's fine.”
For Erwan, Anne’s work as an actress is something he fully respects and understands, comparing it to his own identity as a food content creator.
Anne, who is currently a host on It's Showtime, expressed her happiness over her husband’s comments when she was interviewed during a thanksgiving event for her 29th showbiz anniversary.
“Very good! Very good siya sa akin,” she said, clearly pleased with how supportive Erwan has been.
She also shared that this kind of understanding is not new in their relationship. According to Anne, they have already talked about these situations even before they became a married couple.
“I was just so happy, you know, and it's a conversation we've always had. Even when I ask him, 'Do you mind?' He said, 'No, it's fine, this is your job,'” Anne said.
She added that what sometimes makes situations awkward is not Erwan himself but other people reacting around him during filming scenes.
“So, it's great to be with someone who is open-minded, who understands that this is my job, and supports that—nanonood siya! Ang nagpapa-awkward lang talaga yung mga tumitingin sa kanya kapag merong kissing scene or whatever. Other than that, sobrang siyang chill.”
Anne also shared that Erwan’s personality plays a big role in their strong relationship dynamic. She described him as extremely laid-back, which balances her more energetic nature.
“Ganun siya ka- chill. And I need that chill person to my crazy. Kaya kami nagko-complement kasi sobrang magkaiba kami. It works,” she said.
For Anne, their contrasting personalities are exactly what make their marriage work so well, proving that mutual respect and understanding remain the foundation of their relationship.
