Speaking during an emotional television broadcast, Ian defended his choice to establish a One-Person Corporation (OPC), addressing brewing family tensions and giving a rock-solid guarantee of total fairness to his four siblings.
The announcement comes amid public claims from his family members that they were left entirely in the dark about the business venture.
The corporate layout includes two main parts: a for-profit branch called Nora Aunor Enterprise and a non-profit branch named Nora Aunor Foundation.

According to a report by GMA Network, Ian broke down the distinct operations of this corporate framework.
He detailed that the enterprise will create concerts, documentaries, museum exhibits, and musicals centered on Nora's monumental path.
Meanwhile, the foundation is designed to directly receive 15% of the commercial revenue to fund charity initiatives.
During the interview with Boy Abunda, Ian explained the exact breakdown: “‘Yung enterprise ay sa for profit entity, meaning to say we have plans of doing shows, concerts, documentary, exhibits, whatnot, musicals and stuff like that that’s why I established also the other entity, the Nora Aunor Foundation, so that 15% of the proceeds from the enterprise will go to the foundation.”
The establishment of the single-owner company created immediate controversy when his sister, Matet de Leon, publicly declared that the siblings were completely unaware of the legal maneuver.
Ian, however, gently pushed back against these claims during his conversation on the show. He revealed that the business plan was originally shared during the 40th-day memorial service for Nora at the Libingan ng mga Bayani, with all four siblings present.

"I wanted them involved," Ian shared on air. “This was still a concept during that time and I want them to be involved with the plans that I have, to continue mom’s legacy and I think ‘yung time na ‘yun they weren’t ready. It was still a concept. But I told them I would pursue this. I’m willing for everyone to be onboard.”
He also noted that they held subsequent discussions over digital calls, adding, “I told them. In fact, there was a meeting that was held sa Zoom where Matet was also there twice. She was aware.”
Ian openly acknowledged the internal friction, noting that family disagreements are ordinary, though magnified by their celebrity status.
“As far as I’m concerned kasi, in a family unit — unfortunately for us kasi we’re, you know, public. Everyone knows what’s happening. But people have to understand that family units have their own misunderstandings,” he admitted to Boy.
Rather than forcing an immediate patch-up with Matet and the rest of the family, Ian is choosing patience: “So para sa akin, it’s only a matter of time. I would let time take its own course. You know, I don’t want to force anything until it’s the right time for things to be solved.”
Ian also hit back at internet rumors suggesting the family rift was sparked by greed or asset disputes. He stressed that settling an estate requires rigorous legal steps that cannot be rushed.

“Just to make things clear, the mana issue. I just wanna set the records straight, things take time. It’s not like your mother passes today, the next week may mana. Everything has to be dealt legally,” he maintained.
He stated that he is taking a crash course in legal structures purely to safeguard Nora's legendary name from being used by unauthorized individuals for personal gain.
“I’m no legal expert but I’m sure as heaven that I will have a crash course on legalities in order for this to have order and structure kasi one reason why decided to pursue this is i don’t want mom’s name to be used freely, loosely by anyone who does things for their personal gain,” he explained.
When asked directly by Boy if he intends to protect his siblings' fair shares, Ian answered firmly: "Of course. Definitely. For me I would do the things that just need to be done right now. It's hard kasi Tito Boy to focus on what’s happening, all the discussion that’s been thrown around especially with what’s happening with the siblings and all… But I have to keep our focus on extending and doing what needs to be done in order to establish mom’s legacy and to continue that for further generations.”
Nora passed away on April 16, 2025, at the age of 71 due to acute respiratory failure. Renowned across the nation as the Superstar, Nora was officially named a National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022, after a historic career featuring masterworks like Himala and Bona.
Nora was previously married to Christopher in 1975 before their annulment in 1996, raising five children together: Ian, Lotlot, Matet, Kiko, and Kenneth.
Ultimately, Ian views this entire corporate movement as a sacred duty to keep a profound rags-to-riches story alive for future generations.
"Just because she passed away doesn’t mean her legacy would end there. It's more on extending her inspiration from a little girl whose selling water and peanuts sa train station to becoming a superstar and ultimately a National Artist,” Ian noted.
Despite their temporary differences, he remains completely confident that his family will eventually unite under a singular, beautiful purpose to honor their mother's unmatched impact on Philippine culture.
Ian de Leon is the son of Nora Aunor and Christopher de Leon. Since the Superstar’s passing in April 2025, the management and preservation of her immense cinematic and musical legacy have become a major focal point of public discussion.
Previously, Ian’s other sibling, Lotlot de Leon, released a formal legal notice explicitly distancing herself from the business entities set up by Ian. The actress stated that she was never consulted about forming an enterprise or foundation using Nora's name. Her attorney emphasized that Lotlot is not chasing any money, properties, or assets from Nora's estate. Lotlot broke her long silence specifically to prevent her name from being tied to false narratives about the family structure.
Also previously, Matet directly confronted public rumors regarding a severe sibling fallout with Ian over Nora's properties. The actress downplayed the drama, explaining that they are experiencing a family misunderstanding rather than a bitter feud. Matet confirmed that everyone in the family already understood and accepted that Ian is Nora’s sole biological successor. She revealed that the siblings skipped Nora's official memorial mass because they were simply not emotionally ready to face the crowd.
