The issue stemmed from Sen. Marcoleta’s strong remark amid talks of a possible shake-up in Senate leadership following unrest on May 13. The senator warned against those who might shift alliances within their group, using strong biblical language to stress his point.

Marcoleta.”

The statement quickly drew attention online as discussions about loyalty and political alignment in the Senate continued to heat up.

In his Facebook MyDay post, Ogie Diaz responded to the senator’s remarks, suggesting that such strong language may reflect fear of political changes.

He also questioned the need for harsh comparisons in political discourse, emphasizing that public service should be guided by principles for the nation rather than personal alliances.

Ogie further challenged the intention behind such statements, asking whether the motivation is truly national interest or loyalty to specific individuals.

As of writing, Sen. Marcoleta has not issued a response to Ogie Diaz’s remarks.

The exchange adds to ongoing online discussions about loyalty, leadership stability, and rising political tension within the Senate majority bloc.
