Ara didn't shy away from the reality of grief, admitting that the pain remains fresh.
"Some days, it just feels like yesterday because the pain never left," she shared. She recalled the "silly things" he did, the "playful Lolo" he was to his grandkids, and how she still thinks of his advice whenever she has to make big or small decisions in her life as an adult.
The actress expressed a sentiment many who have lost a loved one, especially a parent, can relate to.
"I'll spend the rest of my life wishing we had one more day... one more meal, or even just one more moment," she wrote, breaking the hearts of many netizens on social media.
Despite the sadness, Ara's message was also one of resilience and legacy. She promised to make sure that her "nieces, nephews, and future kids" grow up hearing stories about the legendary actor, a veteran icon.
"I know some wounds will never heal, and that's okay with me—because it means I'll always remember you and carry your love," she added. Ara ended her tribute with a promise to live a life that would make her father proud.
