After years of prioritizing his private life, Derek Ramsay is officially stepping back into the spotlight. The actor, who once believed his days in front of the camera were over, recently confirmed his participation in the upcoming primetime epic series, “The Kingdom: Magkabilang Mundo.” Produced by APT Entertainment and MediaQuest, the project serves as a series continuation of the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “The Kingdom.”

In the series, Derek portrays Rajah Siyam, a character he describes as a "b*dass" and a "bida-kontrabida." He will be joining a powerhouse cast that includes Piolo Pascual, Cristine Reyes, and Sue Ramirez. Working under the direction of his longtime friend Mike Tuviera was a major selling point. Having collaborated on hits like “Kidlat” and “The Janitor,” Derek noted that the trust he has in Tuviera made the transition back to work much easier.

Before diving into the demanding production, Derek spent the holidays in the United Kingdom with his parents and his daughter, Liana. He described the trip as a necessary "breathing room" for the family. As he enters 2026, the actor is focusing on "inner work" and his faith to navigate the pressures of his comeback. “I’m very, very positive for this year,” he said, emphasizing his readiness to tackle the challenge of delivering “malalim na Tagalog” lines for his royal role.
