Jay Contreras, frontman of the iconic OPM rock band Kamikazee, recently stirred buzz on social media after posting a beach photo on Instagram with Jacqui Manzano.

The heartfelt caption read, “Miss you @jacquimanzano17,” expressing how much he already missed her.

The photo drew a wave of curiosity and excitement from fans.

One netizen boldly asked if Jacqui was Jay’s new girlfriend.

Interestingly, Jay neither confirmed nor denied the speculation, keeping the public guessing.

Adding a dose of humor to the conversation, Jay’s longtime friend and Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda replied to the comment, jokingly saying the woman was Jay’s “pamangkin” (niece).

The comments section continued to heat up when Jacqui herself left a sweet message on the post saying, “Hi love,” to which Jay warmly responded, “Hi love.”

The exchange further fueled rumors that romance may indeed be blossoming between the two.

Many netizens cheered them on, expressing support for the possible couple.

Observant followers also noted that Jacqui is the ex-wife of actor Anjo Yllana, while Jay was previously married to Sara Abad, sister of actress Kaye Abad.

The band is composed of frontman Jay Contreras, Jomal Linao and Led Tuyay on guitars, Jason Astete on bass, and Allan "Bords" Burdeos on drums.

Years ago, the video of Sorsogon Governor Boboy Hamor going up the stage to address the waiting crowd regarding his decision not to allow Kamikazee to play in the Kasanggayahan Festival has gone viral. The popular OPM band was supposed to play alongside other famous bands like Imago and I Belong To The Zoo. Gov. Hamor, during his announcement, said his reason for not allowing the band to play was because of their alleged “attitude” problem. He also said that he didn’t allow Kamikazee to stay in their hotel but sent them straight to the airport, adding that the rock band is now banned from the province of Sorsogon.

In 2022, Neri Miranda, the wife of Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda, uploaded a post showing the members of Kamikazee playing together in a location in Baguio City. In Neri's post, one can see Kamikazee band members seemingly complete and performing in the said location. Neri said it’s like they just ate together and then decided to jam afterward. She said that the said place was so lucky as Kamikazee chose it as the place where they could jam together in public after a long while.
