Cardiologist Willie Ong, also known as Doc Willie, shared with the public that he has been diagnosed with cancer.

In his shocking announcement on social media, Ong revealed that the doctors found a 16 x 13 x 12 centimeter sarcoma in his abdomen. He said the tumor was hidden behind his heart and in front of his spine.

"Ang bukol na ito, malaking malaki daw. Isa sa pinakamalaki na nakita nila," Ong said in his vlog recorded from his hospital room on August 29. The said vlog was published just today, September 14.

In the 24-minute video, Ong also aired an optimistic note about his condition.

"I have a large abdominal cancer, it is serious, but I will fight this battle. Para sa lahat ng cancer patients sa Pilipinas, gagaling tayo ng sabay," he expressed.

Born on October 24. 1963, Dr. Willie Ong is cardiologist who served as consultant of the Department of Health from 2010 to 2014. He graduated the De La Salle University College of Medicine in 1992, and earned his Master in Public Health degree from the University of the Philippines Manila in 2002. He ran for vice president in the 2022 Elections.

In a previous report by KAMI, Doc Willie Ong shared some things to first aid heart attack. He said that the most visible sign that someone is experiencing a heart attack is the Levine’s sign. It is also important to immediately rush the patient to the hospital.

In 2022, Ong revealed that he sustained a minor injury. The doctor recounted that he was about to descend from the flatbed truck that they were using when he lost his balance. To brace himself from the fall, the doctor propped his left hand, which caused a minor injury. He also said that he was not able to estimate the speed of the float and he was also shy to request the driver to slow down.
