Agot Isidro took to X and asked about the funding that basketball receives in the country, following the two Olympic gold medals won by Carlos Yulo in gymnastics recently.

The actress asked if the funding and sponsorship for basketball could now be reduced and the amount reduced will just be added to weightlifting, boxing and gymnastics.

She then asked whether netizens agree with her or not.

The question of Agot brought forth a lot of comments from netizens.

"May idea po ba sila sa amount of support na bininigay ni boss MVP sa boxing at ibang sports, hindi lang sa basketball, bago tayo mag reklamo?? Nahiya naman yung Asian Games gold medal for basketball namin. "
"As much as we want more funding/sponsorships for the sports we're winning at, the sponsors still decide where to put their money. Basketball makes money, it sells in the Philippines, so it is understandable. Perhaps something like tax incentives to attract sponsors?"

Maria Margarita Amada Fteha Isidro, better known to most as Agot Isidro, is a Pinay actress, singer, host, and occasional activist. Agot studied and graduated from the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City, with a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design. She then pursued Fashion Buying and Merchandising in New York City’s Fashion Institute of Technology, where she finished with honors. The singer and actress also completed a master’s degree in communication at the Ateneo de Manila University. Despite her academic achievements, Agot went on to pursue her passion for singing and eventually acting.

KAMI recently reported about the post of Agot on Twitter regarding a fictitious movie, which she did not name. The actress advised her followers and other users not to mind or give notice to the said movie. She said that the mere mention of the movie is still considered as "free publicity." The actress then said in conclusion that 'dedma' is key.

Last June, Agot also took to Twitter to repost a video of the grand rally of VP Leni Robredo in Makati during the campaign period. She then said that she would only believe the 31 million if they would be able to show a receipt like the one she retweeted. The actress then added, that the number must be "x 2" because they are 31 million.
