Plano umanong pagpatay kina Geneva at Yitzhak, ikinasa raw isang araw bago isakatuparan ang krimen

- The alleged plan to kill Geneva Lopez and Yitzhak Cohen was supposedly hatched a day before the actual crime took place

- This was according to the statement of CIDG Chief Maj. Gen. Leo Francisco during the press conference of the PNP and CIDG

- He said that the killing was planned based on the events that transpired between the two suspects, Michael Angelo Guiang and Rommel Abuza

- The CIDG chief also said that Geneva wanted to take back the lot that was pawned to her by Guiang, but the latter does not want to surrender the lot

Maj. Gen. Leo Francisco, CIDG Chief, said that based on the evidence they found between the two suspect, Michael Angelo Guiang and Rommel Abuza, the alleged plan to kill Geneva Lopez and Yitzhak Cohen was supposedly hatched a day before the actual commission of the crime.

He alleged that the couple was led to the meeting set by Guiang, and that Geneva was led to believe that there was a buyer for the lot, in the person of Abuza.

However, Abuza was not exactly a buyer, but he, as per the CIDG Chief, also planned along with Guiang in killing the two.

General Francisco also said that when Geneva and Yitzhak arrived at their supposed meeting place, they were killed shortly thereafter.

Apparently, Guiang did not want Geneva to take back the lot, which he pawned to the beauty queen.

"Ayaw ipabawi yung isinanlang lupa ni Guiang kay Geneva ng gusto nang mabawi ni Geneva," Gen. Francisco said during the press conference.

He also added that they were sure of the motive.

"Tinitiyak namin na dito nagsimula sa motibo na ito yung pagpatay sa magnobya na to," the CIDG Chief said.

Geneva Lopez is a 27-year-old model and beauty queen who was reported missing on June 21, 2024. She was with her boyfriend, 37-year-old Israeli national, Yitzhak Cohen. The two were last seen in Tarlac. On July 6, police authorities say they have found the decomposing bodies of the couple in a quarry site in a faraway barangay in Capas, Tarlac.

Many have been mourning over the death of beauty queen Geneva Lopez and Yitzhak Cohen. Recently, the Mutya ng Pilipinas Pampanga organization expressed its sadness over the contestant's death. In a statement published on Facebook, it extended its sympathy to the bereaved families of Geneva and Yitzhak. It also hoped that justice will be served in due time.

Meanwhile, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has revealed the results of the autopsy on the bodies of Geneva Lopez and Yitzhak Cohen. According to the agency, as per the report of GMA News, each of the victims sustained two gunshot wounds. The beauty queen had a wound at the back of the torso, which exited on her chest, and one on the thigh. Her boyfriend had a gunshot wound on the chest and one near the armpit.
