Jodi Sta. Maria, in an emotional post, shared her experience with her recent 10K run.
The actress said that she started late last year with her preparations, which caused her to doubt whether she can really do it.
“I started running late last year to prepare for a role. During training, naiisip ko what if sumali ako sa race? But I would always tell myself hindi ko kaya,” Jodi wrote in a caption on her post.
Eventually, she was able to gather enough courage to sign up for the race, a 10K run, though shared her participation with only a few people because she’s ashamed in case she would fail

“Until I mustered the courage to sign up for one which I only told a handful of people kasi nahihiya ako. I thought sasabihin ko nalang sa iba pag tapos na. Then I got injured — sa ibang storytime na ito,” the actress said.
She did finish the race and went on to share that her 10K run is more than just a number.
“So crossing the finish line of my first 10K was an emotional experience for me,” she said.
“It hasn’t been an easy journey and there were a lot of doubts if I could ever reach this point,” she added.
The actress also said that every step she took reminded her of the countless hours of therapy.
“Every step was a reminder of the countless hours doing therapy (kahit hindi naman ako atleta!) the frustration of setbacks, and determination to rise above it all kahit kinakabog ang dibdib!” the actress said.
“As I approached the finish line I was flooded with relief and an overwhelming sense of gratitude,” she said further.
“I realized a run is more than just a number — it represents resilience and perseverance and the unwavering belief na kakayanin mo anything you put your mind and heart into. Ayan ang haba na nito. Pag pasensyahan nyo na. Here’s to overcoming challenges and setting new goals ,” Jodi said.
