Herlene Budol, nag-react sa Q&A performance niya, natakot daw sa sasabihin ng mga tao

Herlene Budol expressed her honest reaction to her Q&A performance during the recently concluded Miss Grand Philippines 2023 pageant.

In an ambush interview with the press after the competition, Herlene said she cried backstage before the announcement of winners for she thought that she would not win because of her Q&A performance.

“Na baka hindi ako tawagin dahil pinagtawanan po ako sa Q&A ko. Kanina nga umiiyak na ako sa likod, sabi ko baka ma-bash na naman ako, natatakot po ako. Pero laban lang.”

As per Herlene, she was satisfied with her answer because it came from her heart.

“Kasi galing po sa puso ko 'yun e. Buong buong puso ko po 'yon na lumabas sa bibig ko, na galing sa puso ko. Wala po akong pinagsisihan.”

However, the Kapuso star said she still feared what other people would say about her answer.

“Natakot lang po ako sa sasabihin ng ibang tao. Pero nandito naman po ako, nakaharap, napipigilan 'yung luha dahil alam ko na sa akin galing 'yon.”

She further tackled her Top 15 speech, where she presented her advocacy regarding cyber safety.

“Walang pong kahit sinong tao na nakakaalam kung paano po 'yung sakit na dinulot nu'n (cyber violence) sa akin. Kaya maraming salamat kasi lalo po akong lumalakas.”

Herlene, also known as 'Hipon Girl', is an actress, comedian, and social media star who broke through in showbiz as a contestant on “Wowowin” and later became a host. Herlene was crowned Miss Philippines Tourism 2023 and will represent the country in the Miss Tourism World 2023 to be held in London in November.

Herlene’s answer during the Q&A portion of Miss Grand Philippines 2023 pageant went viral. One of the judges asked Herlene what she thinks is the most urgent problem among Filipino youth and how she would address it. After answering the question, she made the crowd cheer for her when she said, “I-English-in niya po,” referring to her interpreter.

Herlene shared her meaningful advocacy in the Top 15 speech portion of Miss Grand Philippines 2023. She said that as an influencer, she would promote cyber safety. As she delivered her speech, she could not help expressing “woooh” while finding the next words to say. The said moment then brought a pleasant mood to the venue, and it also made the audience cheer for her. Meanwhile, videos of her speech made the rounds on social media.
