‘Eat Bulaga’ host Isko Moreno was a special guest on ‘Tonight With Boy Abunda’ on GMA. Boy Abunda asked Isko about ‘Eat Bulaga’ being behind TV5’s ‘E.A.T.’ and GTV’s ‘It’s Showtime’ when it came to their ratings war last Saturday, July 1.
Isko said that he expected the results because of the hype and drama built up over E.A.T.’s debut episode on TV5 and It’s Showtime’s first episode on GTV.
However, Isko felt happy that the Filipino noontime viewers now have three choices. Furthermore, Isko feels that this competition can help the hosts of the respective shows step up their game and improve the quality of their performances.
“Well, that’s understandable because there’s so much hype, drama [that] happened in the past weeks and days…

“Now, if there will be buffet like in this case, lalabas lahat ng galing ng mga artista kasi may kumpitensiya.
“And we should not hate each other when we are competing. Kumbaga, parang ang point ko, let’s not create hate and expect somebody to favor you to go up. Para tumaas ka, aapakan mo yung likod nang may likod o paa nang may paa.
“We should be proud na panalo dito ngayon yung viewers so magtulungan tayo...
"So, marami na ngayong options. Marami nang opportunity at gaganda na yung noontime shows para sa viewers,” Isko said.
"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime program in the world. Its hosts, including Vic Sotto, Tito Sotto, Joey De Leon, Maine Mendoza, and others announced last May 31 that they are separating from TAPE Inc., the company that produces the show. It is not yet clear as of this writing if the hosts will take the Eat Bulaga title with them to another network or if TAPE Inc. will keep the iconic name.
In other news, Maine Mendoza also took to social media and shared a heartfelt post about “Eat Bulaga.” On her online page, Maine uploaded some photos taken at the show’s studio. Along with the photos, the TV host penned a message to Dabarkads and to the noontime program.
Meanwhile, Alden Richards shared a stirring photo of himself at the noontime program's studio. Ryan Agoncillo, one of the show's hosts, took the said photo of Alden. Along with the pic, Alden wrote a short but heartfelt caption.
