Eat Bulaga is the longest-running noontime program on Philippine television. It premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto. Some of its younger hosts include Maine Mendoza, who rose to prominence after her Dubsmash videos went viral, which helped her land a role as Yaya Dub in the said noontime show.

Joey de Leon immediately took to social media after his, Vic and Tito Sotto’s announcement on Eat Bulaga’s YouTube channel. On Wednesday, the show’s three main hosts revealed that they will be parting ways with Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE). Following the big news, Joey cryptically said in a post that they are not signing off. The 76-year-old comedian underscored, “We are just taking a day off!”
