- Following the big news, Joey cryptically said in a post that they are not signing off

- The 76-year-old comedian underscored, “We are just taking a day off!”

Following the announcement, Joey took to social media and shared a post about the said matter.

“We’re not signing off,” Joey said.

“We are just taking a day off!” he further stressed.

Joey penned the cryptic messages along with a video of their statement.

Born on October 14, 1946, Jose Maria Ramos de Leon Jr., known professionally as Joey de Leon, is an iconic actor, comedian, and television host in the Philippines. He is a member of the comedy trio Tito, Vic and Joey that has made several comedy movies and TV shows. Joey is also best known for being a pioneer host of the longest-running noontime show in the country, “Eat Bulaga.” It premiered on July 30, 1979.

Previously, Joey issued a challenge to some of the hosts of “Eat Bulaga” last Saturday The Dabarkads were challenged by Joey to sing the iconic theme song of “It’s Showtime.” Joey said he would give them ₱10,000 if they sing that theme song. Jose Manalo, Allan K, Wally Bayola, and special guest Gabbi Garcia accepted the challenge and sang the intro of the “It’s Showtime” theme.

Vice Ganda also received greetings from several “Eat Bulaga” hosts as he celebrated his 47th birthday last March 31. While hosting the said noontime show, Joey suddenly said, “Birthday din ni Vice Ganda ata.” “Opo, Boss Joey,” Maja Salvador then reacted. This prompted Joey, Maja, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros and Ryan Agoncillo to wish Vice Ganda a happy birthday.
