- Vhong Navarro's petition for bail was granted by the Taguig Regional Trial Court, reports say

- It can be recalled that just a couple of weeks ago, Navarro was transferred from the NBI to Taguig City jail

Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 69 has granted the petition for bail of actor Vhong Navarro.

GMA News Online reported that in an order dated December 5, 2022, Presiding Judge Loralie Cruz Dataman allowed the actor and TV host to post P1 million bail for his temporary liberty.

Inquirer.net also published a report with the official court document stating that the RTC is "not convinced at this point, that there exists a presumption great leading to the inference of the accused's guilt."

"It must be emphasized, however, that a grant of bail does not prevent the Court, as trier of facts, from making a final assessment of the evidence after full trial on the merits," it added.

In granting Navarro’s bail plea, the RTC said the inconsistencies in Deniece Cornejo’s affidavits were too material to ignore. The court is also not convinced that Cornejo was scared to report first alleged rape, ABS-CBN noted.

It can be recalled that last August, model Cornejo was given another chance by the Court of Appeals to air her side on the charges she filed against the actor.

Vhong is a Filipino comedian, actor, dancer, singer, judge, and TV host of ABS-CBN Entertainment Groups. He was part of the dance group Streetboys in the Philippines. He is one of the pioneer hosts of the noontime variety show, "It's Showtime."

Vhong was transferred to the Taguig City Jail from the NBI Detention Center. A video of him being ushered out of the detention center was shared by ABS-CBN news reporter Niko Baua. Another video was subsequently shared, which showed Tanya Bautista, Vhong's wife, going with him during the transfer.

Cristy Fermin then expressed her honest thoughts on the actor's present physique after photos and videos of his transfer to the Taguig City Jail went viral. According to Cristy, Vhong obviously became slimmer.
