Jewel May Lobaton, the ex-wife of Sen. Koko Pimentel, was arrested in Laoag City for the crime of estafa, according to Radyo Bandera Kalibo.

As per Abante, the beauty queen was arrested in Barangay 6, Araniw, Laoag City around 10 p.m. on Monday.

The arrest was based on the warrant of arrest issued by Judge Manuel Basco Sta. Cruz, Jr. of Branch 226 of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court.

Jewel May was the 1993 Miss Masskara Queen and eventually won as the 1998 Bb. Pilipinas-Universe.

Thereafter, she got married to Sen. Koko Pimentel and their union begot two children.

The beauty queen and the senator separated in 2012, which as per Inquirer's report was also confirmed by the senator, and he later got married to Kathryna Yu.

Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III is one of the incumbent Senators in the Philippines. He is currently in hot waters because of his decision to go to the Makati Medical Center despite testing positive for COVID-19.
