The singer and actress discussed the unexpected return of her old clips during her appearance on GMA’s Fast Talk With Boy Abunda. As someone who entered the spotlight at a very young age, Gairanod has accumulated years’ worth of television appearances, performances, music videos, and other footage that continue to circulate online.
Boy Abunda asked the singer how she feels whenever she encounters videos of herself from many years ago.
“Anong reaction mo kapag napapanood mo ’yung mga lumang videos mo?” Abunda asked.

Gairanod admitted that her initial response is often a mixture of surprise and embarrassment. Because she was so young when many of those videos were recorded, she said she has forgotten some of the things she did during that period.
“Ako po, ’yung reaction ko ano eh, ‘Ginawa ko pala ’to? Hala, ginawa ko pala ’to!’ kasi s’yempre nung bata ka makakalimutan mo sa dami mong ginagawa. So, pag bumabalik s’ya, ako nahihiya sa sarili ko, Tito Boy,” she replied.
Gairanod became particularly reflective when Abunda brought up one of the old videos that has received significant renewed attention: the music video for her song “Puwede Nang Mangarap.”
The song was recorded when Gairanod was still young, and Abunda asked her to recall what it was like making the recording and understanding the song at that point in her life.
“Kuwento nga, paano ang iyong unang reaksyon, nire-record mo? I know this was written by Jungeé Marcelo,” Abunda said.
Gairanod explained that when the song was given to her, she found it inspiring and immediately enjoyed its upbeat quality.
“Nung time na nire-record ko po ’yung, ‘Puede Nang Mangarap,’ nung time din na naibigay s’ya sa akin, very inspiring song po s’ya,” she recalled.
As a child, however, Gairanod said she did not necessarily understand all the meaning contained in the song. Her attention was more focused on the excitement of having a fun song to sing and perform.
“Sobrang natuwa po ako, s’yempre nung bata ako parang, ay ang saya naman ng kanta na ’yan tapos nagda-dance dance, ganyan,” she said.
She admitted that her younger self did not fully grasp what the song was trying to communicate.
“So, hindi ko po medyo naano yung kung ano ba ’yung pinapahiwatig ng kanta,” Gairanod explained.
Her recollection highlights how much she has changed since those early years of her career. At the time she recorded “Puwede Nang Mangarap,” she experienced the song primarily as a child performer excited about music and dancing. Years later, she is able to look back at the same material with a more mature understanding.
Gairanod then summarized the story behind the recording simply.
“[…] ’Yun lang po ’yung kuwento n’ya. Tapos nirelease na namin s’ya.”
