SB19 member Justin De Dios recalled an uncomfortable encounter with a Filipino airport employee during the group’s recent vlog, recounting how a seemingly ordinary interaction involving a fan escalated into what he described as an upsetting confrontation.

Justin shared the experience in SB19’s latest YouTube vlog, explaining that the incident happened while the members were waiting for their luggage at an airport in Los Angeles.

According to Justin, an elderly Filipino woman approached the group while they were waiting and asked if she could take photos with them.

Their manager, Leah Gonzales, then intervened and politely asked the woman if she could wait until the members had finished retrieving their bags.

Justin said the elderly woman understood the request and later took photos with the SB19 members, including Justin, once they were already available.

The situation, however, reportedly took an unexpected turn after a Filipino airport employee overheard Leah’s request.

Justin said the male employee approached Leah and asked for her name before allegedly telling her, “Suplada ka, ah.”

The remark reportedly offended Justin, particularly because he believed Leah had handled the situation respectfully.

“Maayos naman ’yung pagkakasabi nung manager namin, tapos hindi naman siya ’yung kausap... hindi naman technically pinipigilan, nakapagpa-picture na nga eh,” Justin explained.

According to Justin, the employee continued making remarks about the group and their interaction with fans.

“Ang dami niya nang sinabi bigla. Like sabi niya, ‘Di pa nga sikat, ’di na nagpapa-picture. ‘Pag nasa harap na ng camera, doon kakaway-kaway. Pero mga suplado naman.

“Tapos parang sinabi niya pa na Filipino mentality daw. Basta ang dami niyang sinabing mga offensive,” he added.

For Justin, the encounter was difficult to understand because Leah’s request was not intended to prevent the fan from taking photographs. Instead, the manager was simply trying to manage the timing while the group was still collecting their luggage.

The incident was shared in the context of SB19’s increasingly international career, with the group frequently traveling overseas for performances, appearances and other activities.

SB19 is composed of Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken and Justin. The P-pop group has become one of the Philippines’ most prominent musical acts, helping bring Filipino pop music to international audiences. Among their best-known songs are “Go Up,” “MAPA,” “Gento,” “Bazinga,” “DAM,” “What?” and “ILAW.” Their music has earned them a large following in the Philippines and abroad, while their international performances have continued to expand their global profile.

Previously, SB19 achieved another international milestone when the P-pop group made its Japanese television debut on “DayDay,” a weekday morning information and entertainment program broadcast by Nippon Television. Earlier, singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid expressed his admiration for SB19 after the group made history with its performance at Lollapalooza 2026 in Chicago. Alcasid posted a brief but enthusiastic message on X following their set, joining numerous supporters in celebrating the achievement. The appearance was particularly significant because SB19 became the first homegrown Filipino act to perform at the major music festival, adding another milestone to the group’s growing international career.
