“Ang pagkukumpara ko sa iba,” he answered.

Rocco acknowledged that his wife, Melissa Gohing, has witnessed this side of him and often becomes the person who reminds him to stop measuring his career against the careers of others.

He even joked that his wife is the one who gets “beaten up” by the situation because she is frequently the person telling him to change his perspective.

“Medyo asawa ko ang bugbog dito,” Rocco said.
According to the actor, Melissa would remind him, “Love, huwag mo ikumpara ang success mo sa success ng iba. Tama na ang social media.”

Her advice reflects one of the difficulties Rocco said comes with being an actor in the current entertainment landscape, particularly when an artist experiences a prolonged period without a project.

“Kasi nga Tito Boy, mahirap ang maging artista ngayon lalo na kapag matagal na walang proyekto,” he explained.

Rocco’s comments highlighted the financial and emotional uncertainty that can accompany a career in show business.

Unlike occupations with more predictable salaries, acting opportunities can fluctuate. An actor may be heavily involved in projects during one period and then spend months waiting for another opportunity.

For Rocco, that reality has made financial preparation especially important.

He emphasized the value of saving money and investing properly so that he can maintain stability even when acting opportunities become less frequent.

“So napakaimportant [ng pag-iipon,] ng pag-invest nang tama para maging stable palagi,” he said.

For Rocco, his wife’s reminder to step away from social media provides an important counterbalance.

Rather than allowing other people’s achievements to determine whether he feels successful, Melissa encourages him to focus on his own journey.
