Jelai Andres reflected on the lessons she learned from her highly publicized separation from ex-husband Jon Gutierrez, saying that her experiences have changed the way she now views love and relationships.

During her guest appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Monday, July 20, the content creator was asked by host Boy Abunda about the biggest realization she carries with her after everything she has been through, including the highs and lows of her past relationship.

Boy asked what lesson she now brings with her when it comes to love after all the right and wrong decisions she has experienced.

Jelai emphasized that self-love should always come first before giving love to someone else.

“Mahal mo dapat ang sarili mo. Mas mahal mo ang sarili mo bago ka magbigay ng totoong pagmamahal sa partner mo.”

Her response highlighted the importance of valuing oneself first, suggesting that a healthy relationship begins with having genuine love and respect for one's own well-being.

Boy shifted the conversation to Jelai's current love life and asked whether there is someone who now makes her heart beat faster.

Jelai answered with humor before revealing that, for now, her affection is focused on her pets. She also admitted that while she hopes to eventually meet the right person, she is leaving it to fate instead of actively searching for a new relationship.

“Tito Boy ano, mga pets sa ngayon. Sana mayroon, Tito Boy 'no? Kase 'yun 'yung dinadasal natin kay Lord ngayon, 'yung tamang tao. Pero hindi ko siya hinahanap, Tito Boy.”

Although she remains open to finding love again someday, Jelai made it clear that she is not rushing into another romance. Instead, she shared that she continues to pray for the right person to come into her life naturally when the time is right.
