In a recent interview on Kay Susan Tayo! Vlogs with Susan Enriquez, Eric spoke candidly about the lifestyle habits that contributed to his weight gain and how they eventually affected his confidence and overall well-being.
Eric said his fondness for eating, frequent alcohol consumption, and lack of physical activity all played a role in his weight increasing. As he gained more weight, he found it increasingly difficult to find clothes that fit him, often having to buy larger sizes.
He recalled, “Masarap kumain. Tapos, umiinom pa ako noon lagi. Tapos, walang exercise. So, ‘yun. Grabe 'yung taba ko noon. Wala naman magkasiya na mga damit. So, bumibili kami. Wala nang kasya sa aking pantalon.”

The actor admitted that his changing appearance deeply affected him emotionally. He shared that he even found himself crying inside a fitting room after realizing how much his body had changed.
Describing that painful experience, Eric said, “Doon, umiiyak ako sa fitting room. Parang, ano ba ‘tong nangyari sa akin? Sa kama, para akong pagong, hindi makatayo. Ganoon na. Tsaka 'yung kailangan mo nang tumingin sa salamin para makita mo na 'yung bird mo,” pabiro niyang pagbabahagi.
Eric also disclosed that he experienced depression during that period of his life. According to him, recognizing what he was going through became the turning point that inspired him to regain control of his health.
He said, “Pero, that time, sabi ko, ito ata 'yung depression na dumarating na sa akin, nararamdaman ko. Till, uh, I made the decision na ayusin na lahat.”
While searching for ways to lose weight, Eric said he sustained a knee injury after pushing himself to play basketball. During that time, he was introduced to peptides, although he initially had reservations because they were administered through injections.
He recalled, “Kasi, I was so desperate to lose weight, na-injure na nga tuhod ko because pinilit ko mag-basketball. Until I was introduced to peptides. Pero ayaw ko kasi, ni-inject ‘yun, eh. Anything na-inject, parang, ang pangit tingnan, ‘di ba?”
After taking time to understand how peptides work, Eric said he became more open to trying them. He explained that he learned they were not designed solely for weight loss but could also help improve his overall health.
Sharing the results he experienced, Eric said, “Hindi pala siya pampapayat. Magiging healthy ka pala. Tapos, tinry ko, nag-lose ako ng fats. Tapos, lahat ng matataas sa resulta ko, bumaba.”
As his health improved and he continued shedding excess weight, Eric gradually incorporated regular exercise into his routine. His efforts eventually helped him reduce his weight from 220 pounds to 154 pounds. He also revealed that he went from wearing 2XL to 3XL shirts to fitting into medium-sized clothing.
Today, Eric is focused on building muscle instead of losing weight. He explained that unlike before, when he often ate very little, he now makes sure to consume enough food to support his training.
He explained, “Dati hindi ako kumakain masyado. Ngayon, pinipilit ako kumain kasi 'yung food ko is may fuel to do all the exercises,” paliwanag niya.
Eric's journey reflects the determination and lifestyle changes that helped him improve both his physical and mental well-being. With his weight loss behind him, he now remains focused on maintaining his health and overall fitness.
