Following the dismissal of the complaint, Rob Sy released a lengthy public statement expressing gratitude for the resolution and defending both his family and his child.

“Malugod po naming tinatanggap ang May 12, 2026 Resolution na inilabas ng Office of the City Prosecutor of Manila na NAGBASURA sa criminal complaint for alleged abuse under R.A. 7610 na isinampa laban sa amin,” Sy wrote.

According to Sy, the prosecutors carefully examined the evidence and determined that there was no reasonable certainty of conviction.

He also strongly denied claims that their child was a bully and emphasized that they continue to discipline and raise their child properly.

“Hindi po bully ang aming anak at sinisiguro po namin na sya ay aming pinapalaki ng maayos,” he stated.

Sy further pointed out that the resolution allegedly described the accusations as “merely based on speculation,” while reiterating the legal principle that allegations alone do not constitute evidence.

In his statement, the actor claimed that the complaint was an attempt to reverse the true narrative through media portrayals and emotional theatrics instead of objective facts.

“Mula pa lamang sa simula, nanindigan kami na ang reklamong ito ay isang kalkuladong ‘Narrative Reversal,’” he said.

Rob Sy also thanked supporters, witnesses, swimming teams, friends, and legal counsel who stood by their family throughout the controversy.

He specifically mentioned his lawyer, DJ Jimenez, also known online as “The Pinoy Street Lawyer.”

Despite the dismissal of the complaint, Sy acknowledged that the legal process may still continue if an appeal is filed. Nonetheless, he described the resolution as an important vindication for their family and especially for their child.

“Ang DISMISSAL o PAGBABASURA na ito ay isang mahalaga at kinakailangang vindication para sa aming pamilya,” he wrote.

Sy also appealed to the public to avoid prematurely judging families involved in sensitive issues concerning children.

He added that while anti-bullying campaigns are important, people should also avoid becoming bullies themselves through irresponsible statements and online attacks.

The actor ended his statement by expressing gratitude to God and those who continued supporting them despite the controversy.
