Radio personality and digital creator DJ Chacha took to social media on Tuesday, April 28, to celebrate a significant milestone in her family life—the 17th birthday of her firstborn, Sabb.

To mark the occasion, the popular disc jockey shared a curated carousel of photos and video clips on her Instagram account. The post featured a mix of Sabb’s solo portraits and intimate family moments. Accompanying the visuals was a lengthy, emotional caption where DJ Chacha reflected on her role as a mother and the inevitable growing pains of raising a teenager.
In the opening of her post, DJ Chacha expressed her disbelief at how quickly time has passed, acknowledging the occasional friction that arises from parental boundaries:
“Happy 17th Birthday to my dearest panganay, Sabb! I honestly can’t believe you are already 17. I know that sometimes it feels like I’m the enemy because of the times I’ve said 'NO' to the things you wanted to do. But please know that it’s only because I want the best for you. This world can be a scary place, and my only wish is to protect you and your siblings.”

The "Dragona Mommy," a nickname she uses to describe her firm but loving parenting style, went on to praise Sabb’s character and her dedication to her education and her younger siblings:
“Super proud ako sa’yo dahil lumaki kang maayos, masipag mag-aral, alam kung paano alagaan ang sarili mo, at higit sa lahat, kitang-kita ko kung gaano mo kamahal ang mga kapatid mo. Hindi ko man laging nasasabi nang madalas ang 'I love you' o 'I care for you,' pero sana sa ibang mga bagay, nararamdaman at na-a-appreciate mo kung gaano kita kamahal.”
Looking toward the future, DJ Chacha reminded her daughter that while independence is nearing, she still values the time they have left to navigate life's lessons together:
“Just a little more time, anak, and you’ll be able to do everything you dream of without having to ask for our permission. But for now, please allow us to guide you and teach you a little longer. Lagi mong tatandaan na ikaw ang unang nagturo sa akin kung paano maging Nanay at hinding-hindi magbabago ang pagmamahal ko sayo.”
