She said: “Ya’ll need to chill. Haha. What I meant by what happened is how the other crowns were distributed. Where’s Cainta? where’s Taguig? Stop trying to make an issue, I have my bets but I fully support who ever wins.”
Celeste Cortesi was born on December 15, 1997 to a Filipino mother and an Italian father. The beauty queen from Pasay first made her presence known in the local pageant scene through the Miss Earth Philippines 2018 competition. She became even more well-known after winning the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 pageant. The 25-year-old stunner grew up in Italy and moved to the Philippines to pursue pageantry.
In a past report, Celeste represented the country at the 71st Miss Universe pageant. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to make it to the Top 16. This confused and angered many Filipinos, including celebrities, who believe that their beauty queen deserved a spot in the semis. “It’s Showtime” hosts Vice Ganda and Kim Chiu expressed their shock over the results of the pageant. Other celebrities who posted about the pageant results include Gabbi Garcia, Maja Salvador, and Allan K.
After her failed bid, Celeste posted about her experience and feelings. In her lengthy post, the beauty queen from Pasay penned about her MUPH journey. After taking home the crown, Celeste felt beyond thankful to be chosen as the country’s representative in this year’s Miss Universe pageant. She likewise expressed her hope that her story “can inspire so many to never give up on their dreams.”
