Chelsea Manalo, a 25-year-old beauty queen from Bulacan, was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2024 in a dazzling event held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The competition, which featured over 50 contestants from across the country, concluded with Manalo taking home the prestigious title. Manalo will represent the Philippines in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant.

During the question-and-answer portion, Manalo was asked, "You are beautiful and confident, how would you use these qualities to empower others?"

Her heartfelt response resonated with the audience and judges alike.

"As a woman of color, I have always faced challenges in my life. I was told that beauty has a high standard, actually. But for me I have listened and always believed in my mother to always believe in yourself, uphold the values that you have in yourself. Because of these, I am already influencing a lot, the world who are facing me right now. As a transformational woman, I have here 52 other delegates with me who have made me to become the woman that I am. Thank you," Manalo replied.

In the pageant, Miss Taguig Christi McGarry was fourth runner-up, Miss Baguio Tarah Valencia was third runner-up, Miss Quezon Province Ahtisa Manalo was second runner-up, and Miss Cainta Stacey Gabriel was first runner-up.

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, through a recent social media post, expressed full support for a friend who will be taking her chance in this year’s Miss Universe Philippines. In her post, Pia indicated gladness that the age cap for Miss Universe Philippines has already been lifted. According to Pia, she and her friend, Christi Mcgarry, go way back in 2015 when they competed together. She also said that Christi has always been supportive and proud of her, adding that her friend isn’t afraid of the grind.

The beauty queen and host wrote a simple yet meaningful caption. “Still here" she wrote on the caption, albeit, she added "(mentally)" on it. Many netizens reacted to her post, with one saying that the universe always favors Catriona.
