Pia Wurtzbach, through a recent post on her Instagram account, expressed full support for her friend who will be again taking a shot in this year’s Miss Universe Philippines.
In her post, the former Ms Universe indicated gladness that the age limit for MUP has already been lifted.
“Imagine being told your biggest dream is off-limits due to age. That to be Miss Universe, you’d have to be under 27. Not anymore ❤️,” Pia wrote in her post.
According to Pia, she and her friend, Christi Mcgarry, go all the way back in 2015 when they competed together during that time.

“@christi.mcgarry and I go waaay way back in 2015 when we competed together 9 years ago and despite being “competitors” during the pageant, we grew to be really good friends through the years,” the former Ms Universe 2015 said.
Pia revealed that Christi has always been proud and very supportive of her. She also said her friend isn’t afraid of the grind.
“When I was going for Miss Universe, not even for a single moment did I feel she didn’t want me to win or that she wished for me to fail. Christi was always proud and supportive of me,” Pia said.
The former Ms Universe also said her friend worked hard and had big dreams, believing that, one day, her time would come.
“Christi worked hard and had big dreams too. She knew one day her time would come. She wanted to be Miss Universe too,” she said.
“But last year, when the age limit was lifted, she had a chance again. With unwavering support, she’s back in the game. She’s built a career as a model, host, DJ, entrepreneur, environmental advocate…this girl isn’t afraid of the grind,” she added.
Pia then expressed belief in her friend, saying that Christi is ready.
“I believe in her as much as she believed in me. Christi’s a well rounded woman, respectable, kind, professional & and a STUNNER ,” the beauty queen said.
“I’m so proud of her growth and courage. If Miss Universe were tomorrow, she’d be ready. Our next Miss Universe might just be her ,” Pia concluded.
Pia Wurtzbach is a Filipino-German actress, model, and Miss Universe 2015 titleholder. She is one of the four Filipinas to earn the title. She is now married to travel entrepreneur Jeremy Jauncey. They had their wedding in Seychelles.
In a recent social media post, Pia said that everyone has a “common goal” when it comes to chasing their dreams. She said it doesn’t matter whether one’s dreams are in fashion, beauty, or music, there is always a “common goal.” The former Ms Universe also reminded everyone that success can be very difficult at times but the challenges that make it all worth the while. The beauty queen also said she’s looking forward to attending the main event at “The Emi Gala.”
It can be recalled that Pia received the "Global Fashion Influencer of the Year" award at the EMIGALA 2024. The Miss Universe 2015 took to IG Stories and reshared a video of the moment that she received the award. Pia looked stunning in a Michael Cinco creation and never fails to mention the designer in her posts. Many attendees of the event also had their pictures taken with her.
