Jake Zyrus reveals reason why he exposes personal & family issues to public

Kapamilya singer Jake Zyrus frankly explained why he decided to publicize his personal and family issues.
KAMI learned that the promising singer has always been very vocal about his gender transition and his response to mom Raquel Pempengco’s allegations.
Jake expressed that he doesn’t regret exposing his personal life to public because he wants struggling people to find a companion and inspiration in him and in his story.
He quipped that publicizing personal and family matters is not meant for people to have pity on him or to alter their perspectives.
“This is just not to para malaman lang nila istorya mo, o para maawa sila sa iyo or magbago ang perspective nila… I cannot push them to like me or to accept me or anything,” he pointed out.
“But this is for those people out there, sa mga kabataan, who are struggling and thinking na, ‘Ano ba to?’ ‘Ako lang ba yung may ganitong istorya?’ ‘Ako lang ba yung may ganitong nararamdaman?’” he added.
The singer even emphasized that he wants to help individuals who often think of ending their lives already because of problems.

He admitted that there was a part in his life where he wanted to commit suicide but he just found inspiration to continue fighting.
"And I wanna share it to everybody who are struggling and yung mga tao na ang iniisip nila wala nang hope, ‘Maybe, I should end this life,’” Jake reiterated.
“Lahat yun, lahat yung sinasabi nila, yung reasons kung bakit gusto nila i-end yung life nila o halos pareho nung lahat nung pinagdaanan ko,” he added.
When asked if he regrets that he changed from Charice to Jake, he exclaimed that he is not after fame that was why he decided to be true to himself.
Jake said he just opts to marry the woman he loves and have a stable life and a business in the future.
“Does everybody think that I’m after fame? After all these years? I mean, that’s just the question,” he stressed.
“You know what I want? Gusto ko lang makaipon. I want to have a stable life. I want to have a business someday, I want to marry the woman I love, and I want a normal life,” he added.

Jake was born as Charmaine Clarice Relucio Pempengco in Cabuyao, Laguna on May 10, 1992. His gender transition became a subject of public interest and it also attracted criticisms. He had undergone removal of both breasts and begun testosterone shots.
