The Kapamilya singer-songwriter opened up about their exchange during an interview with Boy Abunda on Fast Talk. Yeng said she reached out to Ryan after the concert because several people around her, including her handlers, had been concerned about him.

Their conversation came after Yeng publicly revisited during her concert the time she had a huge crush on Ryan. She previously joked about being “seen-zoned” by the It’s Showtime host, but their private exchange revealed that there was more context behind what happened.

Yeng recalled that Ryan explained why he had not responded to her in the way she expected at the time.

“Minesage niya ako, alam mo ba yung reason nun? Nag aral ako magluto for you kasi hindi kita kayang ilibre.

The exchange also gave Yeng a better understanding of Ryan's perspective. She said the television host admitted that he had been hurt after seeing photos of her with some friends.

“Sabi ko sa kanya, salamat for opening up. At least mas naintindihan ko–– that really hurt him.

For Yeng, the conversation was important because it allowed both sides to finally explain what they had experienced instead of leaving their past interactions open to interpretation.

“Kumbaga, kaya hindi rin namin siya napagusapan dahil it’s very important for him din to explain to me kung ano yung mga nangyari so walang misunderstanding.

Despite the complicated history surrounding their past interaction, Yeng emphasized that she was happy they were able to talk honestly. Their conversation helped put their earlier misunderstandings behind them while allowing both of them to appreciate where they are in their lives now.
