Lovi Poe revealed that she did not learn through one dramatic conversation that Fernando Poe Jr. was her father because, according to her, she had always known it while growing up.

During her interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” host Boy Abunda asked the actress how she found out that the late movie icon was her father.
Lovi explained that the subject was treated naturally inside their home. There was no moment when someone sat her down to make a major revelation.
“Gosh, how did I know? It wasn’t a big conversation,” she said.

She added that she had known since she was a child. Her mother also did not make the matter feel unusual or dramatic at home.
“My gosh, I always knew since I was a kid,” the actress shared.
Lovi also pointed out that she had always used the surname Poe. Looking back, she said the situation was simply part of her life even if she understood that her family setup was different from what she considered the norm.
As she grew older, the celebrity began hearing more stories about her father from people who had worked with him or crossed paths with him.
For Lovi, those stories gave her another way to understand FPJ and the legacy he left behind.
She recalled how actress Sunshine Dizon once shared stories about her father while they were working together on “Bakekang.” Lovi said Sunshine later showed her kindness by helping her with scenes on set even though she was already the lead actress.
“The beauty of it is binalik niya sa akin ‘yung kindness ng dad ko,” Lovi said.
She believed the gesture may have been connected to the kindness FPJ had previously shown Sunshine. Moments like that made her appreciate how people continued to remember her father.
“Everywhere I go, the legacy he left behind talaga. It’s remarkable. You can’t really match it,” she added.
Boy then described Lovi as a beneficiary of her father’s goodness, a thought the actress agreed with. The conversation became more personal when the host asked about the first time she met FPJ in person.
Lovi admitted that the topic was difficult because she was very young at the time. She also explained that she has developed a habit of keeping that part of her life private. She said this was out of respect for the family’s dynamics and made it clear that things are fine now.
The actress also mentioned that she and Grace Poe are on good terms. Still, she preferred not to go deeper into details about the past.
“The past is like a topic that’s a bit, out of respect, I feel like it’s something that I would like to keep to myself and privately,” she said.
