The OFW, who had traveled a long journey from Kuwait, was discovered deceased by fellow passengers on Tuesday, August 5.

The victim was identified as Wilma Auza, a 41-year-old resident of Barangay San Isidro, Manjuyod, Negros Oriental.

Auza's arduous trip home had taken her from Kuwait through a series of connecting flights that passed through Japan, Manila, and Cebu. From the Cebu airport, she proceeded to the South Bus Terminal, where she boarded a bus to Dumaguete City.

She then took another bus from Dumaguete, which was to be her final leg of the journey home.

According to initial reports from authorities, fellow bus passengers noticed that Auza seemed unwell during the trip.

They recounted that she appeared to be experiencing bouts of vomiting. After this, she reportedly settled down and fell asleep, presumably exhausted from her long and emotional trip.

However, when the bus reached its destination, passengers were unable to wake her. It was then that they discovered she was no longer breathing.

First responders were called to the scene, and Auza’s body was immediately taken to the local Rural Health Unit for a formal medical examination.

Police investigators are now looking into her medical history to determine the official cause of death.

The incident has sent a wave of shock and grief through her family, who had been eagerly awaiting her arrival after her long absence.
