Arlene Muhlach, took the cudgels for Angel Locsin and defended the actress against Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Mon Cualoping, who called the younger actress as one having no brain cells.

"Grabe, there are so many of your acquaintances that you can lambast that truly affects our lives as Filipinos and here you go looking for someone who can UP your popularity by ruining what is pure and comes from the heart???!!!"
"Nahanap mo pa talaga siya at ang comment nya?! 'Wag naman ganun!! Wag manggamit para makilala. Pwede naman sa malinis na paraan para mag-ingay at mapansin ng mga botante!"

The actress took to social media to thank everyone for all the prayers she and her family received. Previously, Angel made headlines when she revealed that her father, Angelo Colmenares, contracted COVID-19. In her latest Instagram post, the actress gave a short and quick update about her family and said that she will be taking her previous post down. Aside from this, Angel shared that "10 members of the fam" also contracted COVID-19 even though they are living in separate houses.
Recently, Lolit Solis expressed her heartbreak over the death of celebrity photographer Raymond Isaac due to COVID-19. According to Lolit, she also got concerned by the news that former beauty queen Shamcey Supsup tested positive for COVID-19. She said that Shamcey’s symptoms were mild because she got fully vaccinated. Furthermore, Lolit expressed her hope that Angel Locsin’s blind father, Angelo Colmenares, will be able to fully recover from COVID-19 after he got rushed to the hospital.
