- A buko vendor has earned the praises of netizens after he was able to douse the fire that sent a tricycle ablaze
- The buko vendor recounted how he was there, standing when a burning tricycle stopped near him and he saw that the tricycle driver was already having a hard time putting the flame out
- He said that he has just prepared a container of young coconut milk, which could have earned him P500, but he chose to use it to help the guy
- Even though he already used the entire coconut milk, he still used another container of mineral water as it was hard to put out the flame
On Feb. 10, a buko vendor, 54-year-old Larry Lasac, was at the roadside of Manila East Road, when he spotted a tricycle in flames near him.
"Nakita kong nahihirapan ang tricycle driver na patayin ang apoy kaya naman naisipan kong ibuhos sa nag-aapoy na tricycle ang paninda kong buko juice," said Lasac as per Manila Bulletin's report.
He used the container of coconut milk, which he was supposed to sell to help douse the fire. Seeing that it did not do anything, he used the mineral water that he had.
For Lasac, what he did was a normal thing that anyone would do, reported GMA News. Aside from being featured in different news outfits, the Pamahalaang Bayan ng Binangonan Rizal also posted the video and recognized Lasac's heroism.
