Biography
Daesung was born in Itaewon, South Korea to a conservative family. His parents, especially his father, did not want him to become a singer. He, however, defied them and pursued his dream. He was eventually recruited by YG Entertainment as a trainee.
He attended Kyeongin High School, but he later dropped out to concentrate on the band. He also did taekwondo and played soccer in school. After a while, he went back and cleared the entrance exam and was admitted to Kyung Hee University in 2008 to study post-modern music.
Family and personal life
Daesung lived with his parents and sister when growing up. His elder sister's name is Kang Bora. He is a devoted Christian and an intensely religious man.
In 2011, he was involved in a car accident, and a motorcyclist was killed. It led to him halting his career for a while.
In 2017, he bought a building in Gangnam. It was alleged that an illegal business was being conducted in the building. The Big Bang member was questioned by police in connection with the same. He was, however, cleared of any offence in December 2019 when evidence proved that he was not involved.
