Political career
The famous senator began polishing her leadership skills as early as 1998. Through the assistance and influence of her parents, she was able to position herself in different capacities that helped her grow as a leader.
Between the years 1998 to 2001, she was assigned administrative roles as a personal assistant to her mother. In this particular role, she had the opportunity to interact with the office of the mayor, government departments, as well as the private sector.
In 2010, Nancy became her father's assistant. Her father was then the vice president of the Philippines. The new role allowed her to interact with the office of the vice president, Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council, and the offices of local government.
