An online post has claimed that cannabis can kill the deadly Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19).
However, KAMI learned that the claim was false and just misleading the people.
In a report by Rappler, the post looked like a screenshot of a newscast claiming that scientists have discovered what could kill the coronavirus.
"BREAKING NEWS: WEED KILLS CORONAVIRUS,” it read in the headline.
"Scientists are shocked to discover that weed kills coronavirus,” it said in the text.

Rappler reported that as of February 19, the World Health Organization (WHO) said that there is still no specific medicine yet that can cure and prevent COVID-19.
Some studies have claimed that the cannabinoids found in marijuana plants could help treat illnesses. However, it has been reported that killing coronavirus is not among the known benefits of cannabinoids.
In a previous report by KAMI, the WHO has debunked the claim that drinking ‘luya’ or natural ginger ale can cure the COVID-19.
The Corona Virus Disease was first reported in Wuhan, China. The deadly virus has already taken the lives of more than 1,800 people in China.
