‘Miracle in Cell No. 7’ outshines ‘The Mall, The Merrier,’ now holds no. 1 spot in MMFF

The Philippine adaptation of “Miracle in Cell No. 7” has reached another milestone as it becomes the highest-grossing film so far among all the entries at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2019.
KAMI learned that the Aga Muhlach-movie has finally surpassed the earning of “The Mall, The Merrier” featuring the tandem of Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis.
It is the first time after several years that a movie of the “Phenomenal Box Officer Star” was defeated by another entry in terms of gross.
It can be remembered that on December 27, the comedian hinted that his film already earned more than 100 million after just two days from its release date.

However, in a recent post by Ricky Lo, an entertainment editor of The Philippine Star, it was announced that “Miracle in Cell No. 7” now holds the number one spot.
The said media personality stated in his much-talked-about post that Aga could not believe that he is the new king of Philippine box office.
He also gave an update about the earnings of the current top 4 MMFF entries as of Tuesday, December 31, 2019.
“’Miracle in Cell No. 7’ star Aga Muhlach can’t seem to believe that he’s the newest MMFF Box Office King. ‘Ha, I’m the King, of what?’ Aga asked. ‘Of what kingdom?’” Ricky Lo wrote.
“Nope, not of any country but of the 2019 MMFF. Long live the King!!! From an unimpeachable/reliable source. 1. Miracle P220M... 2. The Mall P213M... 3. 3Pol P57M... and 4. Mission P51M...” he added.
