Lovi Poe opens up about “brutal” 1st year of motherhood, shares how she balanced parenting, career

The actress opened up about the realities of caring for her child during an interview at the exclusive launch of her RSG "The Art of You" collection in Mandaluyong City. She recalled how their feeding and sleeping schedule required her to wake up every three hours, leaving little time for rest.

“It was brutal talaga. The rotation every three hours—she wakes up, I feed her then burp her. Then patulog na siya patulog ka na, but then kailangan mo gumising. I enjoyed all of it,” she recalled.

Although motherhood required numerous adjustments, Poe said she discovered a willingness to make sacrifices that she had not anticipated before having a child.

“There are so many safrifices but there is just willingness you never thought you would have suddenly you are open doing them.”

She also expressed amazement at how quickly her daughter has been growing, noting that the little girl can already walk and say several words. While she finds joy in witnessing these developments, she admitted that she sometimes wishes she could hold on to her daughter's younger years.

"Ang bilis ng time. She is already saying so many things walking already. I try to savor everything but you cant savor enough,” she said.

Despite her responsibilities as a new mother, Poe managed to resume her professional commitments relatively quickly. She revealed that she completed two films and a television series within her first year after giving birth, including the film "Ignition," which she worked on four months postpartum.

Beyond acting, she also devoted time to developing her beauty collection, a project that took approximately two years of planning, testing, and revisions.

Poe described the experience as an exercise in multitasking, especially while breastfeeding and meeting project deadlines.

Ultimately, she emphasized that motherhood has not diminished her appreciation for personal fulfillment. She believes making time for herself helps her maintain confidence while embracing her responsibilities as a parent.
