A video of a man running from the Thai bus to get a fire extinguisher and attempting to put out the flames in the vehicle that seems to have just caught fire has gone viral.

In the video, which was shared by Pin Tipkesorn (@chilchil.chinjung) in a reel on Facebook, one can see the 40-ish or 50-ish man wearing striped shirt and blue jeans running from the back section of the bus towards another vehicle, only a portion of which was visible to the camera.

At this time, the bus appeared to have just caught fire, though it seems that it was spreading quickly.

The man then got a fire extinguisher and ran back towards the Thai bus, which by now was being rapidly engulfed by flames.

One can also see in the video the man trying to struggle with perhaps the fire extinguisher’s safety pin.

The video, which was originally shared on TikTok, but might have already been deleted there, though reposted on Facebook, has already gained 1.6 million views with 26.1K reacts, 1.3K comments and 1K shares.

It can be recalled that the driver of the said Thai bus who was recently arrested by the police narrated during interrogation that he ran towards their companion bus to get a fire extinguisher and tried to put out the fire.

He did say that by the time he got the fire extinguisher working, the flames have already spread and is starting to engulf the entire bus, at which point he panicked and just ran away.

While the narration of the driver appear to match what happened in the video, it wasn’t clear if the man in the video and the driver is one and the same person.

Meanwhile, the body of Thai Teacher Kanokwan Sripong was found to be protectively embracing one student when she was found. An appeal on social media to remember her name, and the other two teachers who died in the accident went viral.

Earlier, the driver of the Thailand school bus who fled the scene while the bus was engulfed in flames was arrested by police authorities. In a report by South China Morning Post, the driver told authorities that he ran away due to panic. It can be recalled that the incident hugged headlines worldwide after it was revealed that 23 of the bus’ occupants died from the raging blaze, among them young students and teachers. According to reports, the blaze quickly spread with many of the occupants unable to escape the violent inferno.
