Ogie Alcasid declares support for Leni Robredo & Kiko Pangilinan

Ogie Alcasid went viral after uploading a video about his choice for president and vice president in the 2022 Election.

The singer-host said that he is supporting the tandem of Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Kiko Pangilinan.
According to Ogie, he personally witnessed Kiko’s capabilities as a leader during his high school and college years since they shared the same schools during those periods.
He added that it will be easier for Leni to accomplish her goals as a president if she has someone like Kiko as her vice president.

"Kagaya po ng aking asawa nais ko pong itaas ang kamay ni Kiko Pangilinan bilang bise presidente ng ating bayan. Maari niyo pong sabihin na, oo kaya mo lang ginagawa 'yan dahil kaibigan mo si Kiko at si Sharon (Cuneta) ay kilala mo at ang kanyang buong pamilya ay kilala mo, kaya mo lang ginagawa yan.'
“Well maari niyo pong sabihin 'yon. Pero alam niyo po kilala ko si Kiko simula't sapul. Matagal na pong panahon ang nakalipas, ako po ay grade school noon nasa Student Council ako at si Kiko naman ay nasa high school Student Council. Doon pa lang ay nagpakita na siya ng tunay na leadership. Hanggang nung nasa college na ako sa University of the Philippines, siya naman po ang aming naging presidente. Siya po ay nagtiyaga, nagsipag, nag-aral upang maging magaling na lider hanggang siya ay naging senador.
"Ang masasabi ko sa kanya he's God-fearing, he's a family man, he's humble, he's always willing to serve. Gusto ko lang i-highlight 'yung salitang humble. Kasi nitong mga nakaraang araw nakikita naman po natin na hinuhuli niya po ang kanyang sarili kung kaya't 'yung mga nakalimutan na tulad ng ating mga magsasaka ang siyang nagtaas ng kanyang kamay. 'Yan po si Kiko. At nakakatuwa na unti-unting nakikilala ang kanyang tunay na pagkatao, ang kanyang tunay na karakter, ito pala.
"Hindi po magagawa ni Leni ang lahat ng gusto niyang mga magagandang adhikain para sa ating bansa kung wala siyang kaagapay at kung walang taong maasahan niya at hindi siya pagtataksilan," aniya.
His wife, Regine Velasquez, also expressed her support for Leni and Kiko.
“Ako po si Regine Velasquez Alcasid at itinataas ko po ang kamay ni Kiko hanggang huli dahil mas liliwanag ang kulay ng buhay natin kung si Leni at si Kiko ang ipapanalo natin,” Regine said.
Regine Velasquez is a famous singer, host, and actress in the Philippines. She is dubbed as the Asia’s Songbird because of her outstanding vocal range. She is married to singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid.
The addition of Regine to the morning talk show "Magandang Buhay," was a welcome development to her co-hosts. Recently, her co-host, Jolina Magdangal, posted about the generosity of Regine. The popular singer gave her fancy shoes to Jolina, which filled the latter with joy and excitement. She also described Regine as a real-life fairy godmother to her and many people. Jolina added that Regine is known for giving away expensive stuff to others.
Regine also showed her funny side in one episode of 'It's Showtime,' where Ogie is also a co-host. In a segment of the show, co-host Amy Perez jokingly confided to Regine that Ogie told her the singer looked like a Shih Tzu. Regine, in a jest, then grabbed Ogie by his hoodie and dragged him out of 'It's Showtime.'
