A couple in Zamboanga City was hospitalized after allegedly being stabbed by their own son while they were asleep, according to a report on GMA’s Balitanghali.

Citing the police investigation, the news report said the suspect used a knife to attack his parents. The father sustained a stab wound to his chest, while the mother suffered injuries to different parts of her body.

Both were rushed to a hospital for treatment. Police said the couple was already in good condition at the time of the report.

“Ayon sa pulisya, isinugod sa ospital ang dalawa at nasa mabuti nang kalagayan,” the report stated.

Authorities arrested the couple’s 27-year-old son following the incident. According to the news segment, he admitted to the attack. However, the report did not include a direct statement from the suspect explaining what happened or why he allegedly hurt his parents.

The couple, meanwhile, had not yet decided whether to pursue a complaint against their son.

“Wala pang desisyon ang mga biktima kung magsasampa ng reklamo laban sa kanilang anak,” the report said.

Their pending decision was the status reported in the segment. No further statement from either parent was included about what they intended to do next.

The motive remained under investigation. Although the suspect reportedly admitted to the incident, the report did not establish what prompted the alleged attack.

Meanwhile, a police officer is facing administrative complaints after his live-in partner, a teacher, reported him for allegedly repeatedly physically abusing her in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental. In the footage, the man could be seen dragging the woman while she screamed. At one point, he allegedly kicked and spat on her.
