Heidi Espiritu-Dimacali received an unexpected blessing at age 45 when she welcomed another child more than two decades after giving birth to her older children.

The Pampanga mom shared her story in a report by Katrina Son on GMA's "24 Oras Weekend." Before her pregnancy, Heidi would often tease her two grown daughters about wanting to become a grandmother.

Her eldest daughter is already 26 years old and works as an aeronautical engineer, while her younger daughter, 22, is studying dentistry.
"Lagi ko silang niloloko. Ba't hindi pa kayong mag-boyfriend? Sabi ko ganyan, parang magkaroon na ako ng apo," Heidi recalled in the television report.
Instead of getting the grandchild she had been asking for, however, Heidi learned that she was pregnant again.
Her daughters were understandably surprised when they discovered their mother's pregnancy through an ultrasound.
Heidi's pregnancy was considered high-risk because of her age. Things became more difficult when she reached her 34th week and began experiencing abdominal pains.
At first, the mom thought she was already about to give birth. Doctors later determined that she was experiencing preterm labor.
"Nagpa-preterm labor po ako. Tapos yun po pala, nagkaroon ako ng severe sepsis," she said.
Despite the complication, doctors were able to manage the situation, and Heidi said her baby was not delivered at 34 weeks. Her pregnancy eventually reached 38 weeks before she gave birth.
The family's newest member, affectionately called Baby Ramram in the report, is now surrounded by two much older sisters.
According to "24 Oras Weekend," the baby was already four months old when the family's story was featured. Despite the more than 20-year age difference, Heidi said her daughters quickly embraced their roles as older sisters.
"Mas masaya ngayon kasi nae-enjoy nila yung kapatid nila," the mom shared.
She added that her daughters are excited to return home to see their baby brother. They even compete over who gets to carry or look after him first.
Heidi now playfully reminds them that they initially did not ask for another sibling.
What started as her wish to finally have a grandchild instead became another chapter of motherhood for Heidi and a new experience for her adult daughters.
