A seemingly ordinary afternoon of grocery shopping turned into a completely infuriating nightmare for an off-duty police staff sergeant after he was wrongfully profiled and assaulted by a suspicious security guard and a fellow police officer at a Quezon City supermarket.

The shocking confrontation, which occurred along Quirino Highway in Barangay Baesa on a rainy Tuesday afternoon, has led to the immediate arrest of the two aggressive perpetrators who are now facing serious criminal charges.
According to a report by the Inquirer, the victim was casually wearing a jacket and civilian clothes after finishing his demanding shift.
Despite peacefully presenting his receipt at the exit, a 55-year-old female security guard stubbornly blocked his path, unfairly judging him as "suspicious-looking," and quickly called a nearby patrolman for backup.

Attempting to de-escalate the completely unnecessary tension, the staff sergeant calmly introduced himself and even presented his official identification cards.
However, this only seemingly angered the responding patrolman. Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 3 commander Lt. Col. Von Alejandrino detailed the frustrating ordeal, stating, “The patrolman could not believe it because he was in doubt since the staff sergeant was in civilian clothing.”
The situation rapidly escalated from a simple misunderstanding into an unwarranted display of excessive force.
“While confronting him, the patrolman suddenly held the staff sergeant. They perused his sling bag and brought him back inside the establishment,” Alejandrino further explained.
When the victim bravely refused the humiliating order to lie on the floor, the situation worsened. Alejandrino added, “The staff sergeant was hit in the face with the patrolman’s gun. That’s why he fell to the ground. When he fell, he was forced to turn on his back. The lady guard even joined in.”
The terrifying ordeal only stopped when other QCPD Station 3 personnel finally rushed to the scene.
Addressing the complete absurdity of the assault, Alejandrino passionately argued, “Even if it’s not a police officer who was assaulted, it is still not right. The force used was excessive. There was no resistance. Even if it was a civilian, it was still not right.”
While the suspects claimed they found the victim's service firearm inside his sling bag, authorities confirmed it was safely tucked away. Alejandrino maintained, “The gun wasn’t tucked on his person. It was allegedly just inside the sling bag and the gun was not visible.”
Both the patrolman and the security guard are now languishing in police custody, facing serious charges of grave threat, physical injury, and grave coercion.
Disturbingly, this was not the patrolman's first offense, as he reportedly has a history of bad behavior.
Alejandrino noted a prior online complaint against him, saying, “He was punching people, taking things physically.”
