GMA-7 reporter Mav Gonzales gave her social media followers a detailed look at the expenses she incurred when she gave birth to her youngest child, Maya, at Makati Medical Center in May 2026.

Mav opened her post by asking, “How much did my birth in Makati Medical Center cost in 2026?” She then proceeded to break down the different charges included in her hospital bill, from the birthing suite and delivery costs to professional fees and expenses related to her newborn.

According to Mav’s breakdown, the birthing suite cost ₱1,580 per hour for 24 hours. She also incurred a ₱15,800 charge for the heated tub. The total amount listed for the birthing suite-related expenses was ₱53,720.

Her normal delivery, which included the epidural, medical supplies, and medicines, amounted to ₱115,163.26.

Mav also revealed that she needed a blood transfusion during her childbirth experience. The procedure added another ₱40,315 to her hospital bill.

Her two-day stay in a suite cost ₱43,600, while the hospital expenses for her baby reached ₱30,284.

The professional fees made up another substantial portion of the overall expenses. Mav listed her pediatrician’s fee at ₱58,478, while the anesthesiologist’s professional fee reached ₱128,306. Her OB-GYN’s fee was the largest among the three, amounting to ₱258,294.

After all the expenses were calculated, Mav said the total reached ₱728,160.26.

She also indicated the deductions she received through PhilHealth, listing ₱29,000 in benefits for herself and another ₱5,119.50 for her baby.

After the PhilHealth deductions, Mav’s final bill came to ₱694,040.76.

The journalist then responded to the amount with a lighthearted remark, writing, “Starting a GoFundMe now [LOL emoji].”
